We are Jess & Hannah, the creators behind Moon Market!

Meet Jess (she/hers)

Jess is an artist, photographer, and owner of PDX Holiday and co-founder of Moon Market, working out of a small studio in her North Portland home. She grew up in Nashville, TN and appreciates the roots where she came from, including southern hospitality, which she brought with her to Portland (southern accent not included!). In her mid 20s, she set out to make a big life change, looked at the map and landed on Oregon due to its natural beauty and art scene. After over 4 years, she’s happy to call the PNW home.

While Jess didn’t grow up dreaming of being a maker, somehow crafts of all kinds always found their way into her hands via a variety of interests. Due to the pandemic last year, she decided to take the plunge and pursue jewelry making in the form of clay and custom brass. This decision led her to meet Hannah at a local market and as they quickly hit it off, Moon Market went from an impossible idea to a dream within reach.

Jess is always dreaming up how to make our small businesses be more successful whether it’s branding, photography, user experience on your site, or social media. Being an ENFP, she is quite the campaigner in the lives around her because she naturally sees how successful you can be.

Meet Hannah (she/hers)

Hannah is an artist, the owner of Rhea & Venus Designs, and co-founder of both Myrtle’s Delight and Moon Market. She grew up in Portland, OR and spent 6 years in NYC, where she discovered her desire to pursue art and business in a different way. Hannah currently resides in Portland with her fiancée and three-pawed cat, Monk.

She is now pursuing a dual degree from Pacific Northwest College of Art (MFA Print Media, MA Critical Studies). Hannah is always looking for new opportunities to support important stories and movements, learn new art forms, and dismantle institutions that uphold inequality. Her current art forms include printmaking, embroidery, weaving, and ceramics. Hannah is excited to engage with a community of people who uplift and support each other.
